Amirul Hajj of the Gambia, Sheikh Ebrima Jarju, has signed the Car Syndicate Agreement on the sidelines of the ongoing Hajj & Umrah Conference & Exhibition. The agreement relates to the transportation of Gambian pilgrims in Madina, Mecca, and Jeddah during the 2024 Hajj, which is scheduled to take place in June 2024.

Every year, “The Hajj and Umrah Services Conference and Exhibition” brings together notable scholars, entrepreneurs, innovators, and intellectuals with the goal of enhancing pilgrimage services. This event is an important forum for promoting regional and global dialogue with various Arab and Islamic populations.

Thus, H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, Minister of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia, H.E. Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, and numerous dignitaries in charge of planning the 2024 Hajj, including Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Deputy Governor of the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Province, met with the Amirul Hajj of the Gambia, Sheikh Ebrima Jarju.

The Amirul Hajj of the Gambia, Sheikh Ebrima Jarju, signed the General Cars Syndicate, which is responsible for providing better transportation services for pilgrims traveling to the Prophet’s mosque in Saudi Arabia.

The Syndicate’s responsibilities include making sure pilgrims are transported in comfortable buses, keeping an eye on the performance of transportation firms, and offering roadside help via wireless networks and support centers.

The responsibilities listed include arranging transportation, pressuring transportation providers to supply automobiles, guaranteeing drivers are competent and adhere to traffic laws, and supplying safety equipment, including seatbelts, first aid kits, and safety tools. For pilgrims arriving by air, sea, or land, the companies must also handle passports, ticket sales, map production, luggage handling, and regulatory compliance.

The ground handling agreement was also signed by Amir Sheikh Ebrima Jarju in the same line. This service handles pilgrims’ bags from the time they arrive in Madina until they depart in Jeddah.
