The Police Command Engages Stakeholders on Training Needs Assessment

Under the direction of IGP Abdoulie Sanyang, the Police Management has established a transformation agenda, under which directions the Gambia Police Force has completed discussions with its national and global partners to ascertain the police staff’s training requirements.

The aim is to combine the cooperative endeavors of all parties involved into feasible plans for the GPF.

Speaking to the group on behalf of the Inspector General, Assistant Inspector General of Police Administration Demba Sowe praised the stakeholders’ admirable efforts and underlined the significance of appropriate cooperation with the command

The Inspector General of Police, Abdoulie Sanyang, joined the gathering to welcome the stakeholders and underscored the necessity of supporting the police with a dedicated police academy, emphasizing, “The solution to addressing training needs is to have a standard academy for training officers.”

National Security Adviser Abubacarr Jeng commended the initiative of stakeholders, highlighting the crucial role partners play in the reform agenda.

Stakeholders expressed appreciation to the GPF for organizing this vital consultation.
